Custom Rifle Stocks

A serious hunter is a different breed. Compromise is not an option when the hunt of a lifetime is at stake. And that includes the equipment you choose.

Humidity imperceptibly twists the finest wood stock, altering pressure points and barrel vibrations. On a bad day, you could miss that record book shot by up to 10” at 400 yards. Don’t take that risk. Every McMillan fibreglass stock is a weatherproof foundation for accuracy, with military-grade ruggedness and custom-grade good looks.

The best rifle manufacturers use McMillan for their finest custom grade and precision tactical rifles. Custom gunsmiths choose McMillan, too.

MDT ESS Chassis System – Main Body

The ESS provides ultimate ergonomics and features!

The MDT ESS chassis is designed with its own buttstock for perfect ergonomics and is designed to use AR15 style pistol grips (purchased separately), and allows for customization with a wide variety of accessories.

The ESS Chassis System includes chassis, buttstock and 15″ forend.

DETAILS
The ESS retains our proven V-block bedding system to form a solid and reliable base for the rifle action. The magazine well has been refined for easy insertion of the magazine, while reducing rattle and movement. The tab style magazine release has been replaced with a semi-flush ambidextrous paddle that can easily be activated by a weak or strong hand. The recoil lug mortise has been designed to accommodate most aftermarket recoil lugs, and the trigger area will accommodate most aftermarket triggers.

A serrated barricade stop has been added to the front of the magazine well, and a polymer forend grip at the balance point adds comfort. The wide fore-grip area combined with the octagonal profiled forend tube offers flexible options when shooting over bags or improvised rests.

Thumb shelves have been added to both sides of the chassis for shooters who prefer an open grip.

The most significant change is the incorporation of the ESS chassis specific buttstock interface, rather than the traditional AR pattern interface. This allows us to place the pistol grip in optimum relation to the trigger, while still allowing the shooter to choose from the wide variety of AR pattern pistol grips which suit their preference.

The MDT ESS chassis comes with its own butt-stock, similar to our Skeleton Rifle Stock. It is fully adjustable including lateral adjustment for the butt-pad and the cheek rest. Cheek rest height and butt-pad length-of-pull are adjustable by thumb wheels.

MDT ACC Chassis System – Main Chassis and Buttstock

The ACC (Adjustable Core Competition) Chassis is designed around an integrated, modular weight system which allows you to customize the balance and mass of your rifle to maximize performance and minimize recoil.

The ACC comes with a Skeleton Rifle Stock with a steel butt pad plate, for added weight, and a dedicated space to add even more weight to the stock if required.

The ACC Chassis features a full Arca rail the entire length of the forend and M-LOK mounting points for accessories and additional forend weights – both internal and external – allowing you to add up to an additional 9 pounds of steel to your rifle.

DETAILS
Adjustable Core Competition chassis system is designed for the competition world: the ACC is primarily suited for the PRS & NRL shooting style, although it can be used in other disciplines. The ACC chassis system is the result of endless testing and collaborating with competition shooters, implementing the most crucial and results driven features, while ensuring accuracy and precision remain unparalleled.

The ACC (keyword A for Adjustable) was created with an integrated weight management system, allowing shooters to fine tune their chassis’ weight and balance point. The adjustability comes from a series of weights that can be added to either the buttstock, interior forend or exterior forend m-lok. It’s original weight of 5.9 lbs transforms into a maximum of 12.3 lbs (chassis only – add on your action, barrel, scope and accessories and most shooters are pushing 25-30 lbs in the ACC).

All of this modularity and adjustment can be achieved without taking your barreled action out of the chassis system: internal forend weights can be inserted from the front of the forend and screwed in place, while external weights were designed to be M-LOK compatible and easily attached on either side of the forend. This ACC weight management system allows shooters to rapidly adjust the feel and recoil characteristics of their system, even while at the range.

Along with other features like the full 17” ARCA/RRS forend, flared magazine well, extended barricade stop, widened thumb shelf, adjustable cheek riser and length of pull – the Adjustable Core Competition chassis is nothing short of excellence for the competition shooting world.

MDT TAC21 Gen 2 Chassis System

Looking for a stock replacement for your Remington 700, Savage or Tikka T3 Bolt action rifle, turning it into a tactical and highly accurate system?

Our TAC21 Chassis system for bolt action rifles offers a combination of improved accuracy, superior ergonomics and specialized design allowing use of AR-15 butt-stocks, grips and automatically converts your rifle to an external box magazine fed rifle.

The TAC21 can be installed in 30 – 45 minutes without the need of bedding and has proven results with up to 28% accuracy improvements.

DETAILS
Our TAC21™ chassis system is a combination of benchrest accuracy, superior ergonomics and specialized design. This chassis brings the bolt action rifles to the next level in versatility and modularity, with an instant improvement in accuracy.

The chassis system is manufactured out of billet 6061-T6 aluminum, which has been finished with Cerakote™ in Black or Flat Dark Earth (FDE).

TAC21™ chassis is engineered to minimize warping and distortion. The rifle receiver only makes contact with the TAC21™ chassis on the V shape bedding and recoil lug area insuring the best accuracy and repeatability. The generous clearance on the forend makes any barrel (diameter up to the receiver size – 1.350”) free floating.

Inherently, the TAC21™ has a straight-line design, meaning that the recoil comes straight back instead of making the front of the rifle kick upwards. This results in more accurate and quicker follow up shots. This also translates to a decrease in felt recoil and increase in comfort.

MDT LSS-XL Gen 2 Chassis System

Increase accuracy and ergonomics of your rifle with our LSS-XL Gen2 chassis system. The LSS-XL Gen2 is a longer and more feature-rich version of our LSS chassis system. The LSS-XL Gen2 has been updated with a bold, modern new look inspired by the popularity of the ESS chassis line, while maintaining and improving upon the overall aesthetic of an MDT chassis.

The LSS-XL Gen2 allows you to convert your bolt action rifle to a highly versatile rifle allowing you to adjust the ergonomics with the use of AR-15 buttstocks and grips, and at the same time converting it to an external box magazine fed rifle. Shoot Better.

The LSS-XL Gen2 comes in a FIXED or CARBINE option depending on buttstock preference.

DETAILS
The original LSS-XL Gen2 chassis system was designed as a variant of our highly popular LSS chassis. The LSS chassis was designed for use with compact, short barrelled rifles. Many customers liked the LSS chassis, but wanted to use a fixed buttstock, and get their bipod out further forward.

This prompted us to design the first-generation LSS-XL chassis system, which has a forend extended by 3″ and was designed to accept fixed rifle stocks without the need of using any adapters.

After the successful launch of our ESS chassis system, requests started pouring in for the new features that had been introduced on the ESS chassis to be rolled out on our other chassis systems. In response, we have upgraded our LSS-XL chassis line with a Gen2 lineup that incorporates the following new features:

  • Bold, modern new look
  • Ambidextrous magazine release
  • Thumbrest above trigger guard
  • Larger barrel channel to accommodate barrels up to the diameter of the action
  • M-Lok pattern attachment slots on all five sides of the forend
  • Barricade-stop grooves ahead of mag-well
  • Side-relieved mag well to accommodate bulging magazines
  • Carbine and fixed buttstock interface options

The chassis is designed with V-shaped bedding surfaces, allowing you to drop your rifle right in without the need for additional bedding. The bottom profile of the V-block cutout has been kept round and close to the action without making contact, maintaining maximum strength. The LSS-XL Gen2 chassis will free float barrels up to 1.350” diameter.

Replace your stock on your Tikka T3, Remington 700 or one of many other bolt action rifles with our tactical chassis!

Our LSS Chassis was designed for use with short barrelled bolt action rifles. It converts your rifle to an external box magazine fed rifle, while improving accuracy, and giving the rifle superior ergonomics by allowing use of AR-15 butt-stocks and grips.

Our MDT LSS Chassis System is onto the next generation.

The LSS Gen2 is an update of our popular LSS chassis. The LSS Gen2 chassis system now sports a bold and modern new look inspired by the contours of our more recent chassis lines like the ESS, ACC & LSS-XL Gen2, and is lighter than ever (1.4 to 1.6lb depending on the model).

The LSS Gen2 incorporates the following new features, in addition to everything the original LSS had to offer:

  • Ambidextrous magazine release
  • M-Lok pattern attachment slots on sides and bottom of the forend
  • Barricade-stop grooves ahead of mag-well
  • Side-relieved mag well

DETAILS
Our LSS chassis system was designed to be as compact as possible. The V-shaped bedding and free floated forend improve accuracy and ergonomics. The forend allows for barrel contours up to 1″ in diameter. The graphic on the right shows the two flat spots (V-block) where the action sits. The area below the action remains rounded to ultimate strength.

The chassis system is manufactured out of billet 6061-T6 aluminum and has been finished with Cerakote™ in Black or Flat Dark Earth (FDE). To keep this chassis system compact, it was designed for carbine AR-15 buttstocks. However, fixed buttstocks can be mounted with the use of a fixed stock adapter. Alternatively, our LSS-XL Gen2 chassis has a longer forend and was designed to accept fixed buttstocks without the use of the adapter.

MDT HNT26 Chassis System

The MDT HNT26 is sold as a complete hunting chassis system including magnesium chassis base, carbon fiber forend, carbon fiber grip and foam filled carbon fiber buttstock.

HNT26 CHASSIS SYSTEM
MDT Chassis Systems were designed for sports and tactical shooting. However over the years we found that our chassis were often used in hunting, especially our lighter chassis such as our LSS Chassis system. But we had never purpose-built a chassis system solely for hunting, until now..

The MDT HNT26 Chassis System is our first truly purpose built hunting chassis. This legendary hunting chassis provides you with all of the usual benefits that you expect from a rifle chassis such as v-block bedding, LOP and comb adjustment, AICS magazine compatibility etc, but weighs in starting at a mere 26oz (for our standard fixed version).

The MDT HNT26 Chassis is constructed of a magnesium alloy base, with a carbon fiber forend, a carbon fiber grip and a foam filled carbon fiber buttstock. With the increased number of hunters using ARCA tripods, we have included an option to choose a carbon fiber forend with an integral ARCA rail, as well as a foldable buttstock version for compact storage.

Browning Classic

The Browning Classic is an Americanized European design with a straight comb and a cheek piece with a shadow line. The stock has a small amount of cast off as well as cant, which allows the shooter to get behind the scope more easily. The forend will accept up to a #5 barrel contour. Because all of the stocks are filled solid and then inletted using computerized CNC machining centres, each stock is made specifically either for the A-Bolt, the BBR, or the Browning Safari. To guarantee the fit of completely finished stocks, the barrelled action must be sent in.

Browning Hunter

The Browning Hunter is a copy of a factory Sako design. It has a Monte Carlo cheek piece and a palm swell. It also has a small amount of cast off and cant, which makes for easier target acquisition. The forend of this stock is very narrow and will take up to a #4 barrel contour. Because all of the stocks are filled solid and then inletted using computerized CNC machining centres, each stock is made specifically either for the A-Bolt, the BBR, or the Browning Safari. To guarantee the fit of completely finished stocks, the barrelled action must be sent in.

Browning Varmint

Available in right and left hand models for Remington style actions only.

Lazzeroni Thumbhole Sporter

Like the Lazzeroni Sporter, the Thumbhole Sporter was designed by Harry Lawson for heavy recoil rifles. The chequered forend is slightly flared and will accept up to a #7 barrel contour. Remington Varmint

We have refined our Remington Varmint stock in response to your requests for a higher comb that accommodates the large bell varmint scopes. In addition to the higher comb, the stock includes conventional checkering, a palm swell on the pistol grip, and a semi-beavertail forearm about 2“ wide. It is an ambidextrous stock that may be inletted for any right or left hand Remington action. It will take barrels up to a #7 Douglas contour.

Remington BDL

The Remington BDL was patterned after a Remington Custom Shop .375 stock. The forend is slightly larger than the factory stock and can accommodate up to a #5 barrel contour for right hand configurations. The left hand version is slimmer and will accommodate up to a #4 barrel contour. It may be used with long or short 700 actions, ADL (blind magazine) or BDL (hinged floor plate) and as a single shot using a Remington ADL trigger guard. It can also be used for 721, 722, and 788 actions.

Sako 75

The Sako 75 is a reproduction of the factory stock, which may be one of the finest hunting stocks on the market today. It comes with a Monte Carlo and cheek piece, small palm swell and uniquely designed fine line checkering. It can accommodate all factory Sako 75 actions with up to a #5 barrel contour. It is available in right and left hand.

Sako 75 varmint

The Sako 75 Varmint features a Monte Carlo cheek piece, small palm swell and fine lined checkering. This stock is available for Sako 75-I and 75-III actions only and will accept up to a #8 Douglas barrel contour. It is available in right hand only.

Sako tikka 65

This is a modification the Sako Hunter. It has a palm swell and a full Monte Carlo butt. The rear tang has been modified to fit the older Tikka Model 65 and also works well with the Remington 700 actions with factory barrels or custom contours up to a #4. Available in right hand only.
